I have been very bad with updates recently, sorry! It has been a very busy couple of months for me as I have now left Ireland behind, started a new job and moved to the city of L’viv in Western Ukraine. I stayed in L’viv at the end of my trip around Russia, on my way back to Ireland via Poland. As with my time in Kyiv, I stayed in Dream House Hostel. Just like in Kyiv, my stay here was great. Read on to find out why Dream Hostel is the best hostel in Lviv.
The Location
The hostel is literally less than one minute walk from the old town square in the city. If you are arriving to Lviv by train, you can get tram line number 1 and get off right on the square itself. 10-15 minutes walk will take you to all the main tourist attractions in the city centre itself.
As with the hostel in Kyiv, they have daily events including the usual pub crawls and even varenyky cooking classes. As you can see from the map, there are many Dream hostels across Ukraine and further afield to stay at.
The Bedroom
Once again, I stayed in a 6 bed dorm and each bed had an individual curtain for privacy. Two of my biggest hates on hostel accommodation are poor bed frames and inadequate storage. Neither of these have been a problem at either of the Dream House hostels I have stayed in. The proper wooden framed beds mean that you aren’t woken up every 10 minutes anytime someone moved, and also proper support for your back! The storage lockers underneath the bed are very big. I could easily fit all my belongings from 3 months travelling around Russia as well as souvenirs from home and still have a lot of space leftover.
The Bathroom
The shower rooms and separate toilet rooms are among the best I have experienced. Everything is spotless, the hot water never runs out and the water pressure is equally impressive. I have stayed in hotels with far worse bathrooms than this! Believe me after a day of exploring in nearly -20, you will enjoy being blasted by the hot water in the shower. If you run out, or forget, or lose any of your bathroom essentials, you can purchase these from reception at a good cost.
The Kitchen
The kitchen and living space areas are great for meeting people, relaxing or even doing some work. The kitchen area was spotless, with filtered water available. Note the very large fridge in the photo below. No more losing your food items in a small, too full fridge.
Druzi Cafe
As with the hostel in Kyiv, there is a cafe/bar/restaurant attached to the hostel called Druzi. I was correct in my previous write up, it does indeed mean Friends! Very comfortable seats, plenty of space, a large outdoor area for the summer and just look at the tasty food below! The food is really good for somewhere right in the touristic part of the city. I wouldn’t hesitate going here for a nice breakfast, lunch or dinner, even if you aren’t staying at the hostel.
There will be no surprises that I fully recommend this hostel. Perfect location, easy to get to, 1st class amenities. What more can you ask for? Top marks from me once again. Well done Dream House.
If you are interested in staying at Dream House hostels, then you can find their website here as well as Facebook and Instagram. You won’t regret your decision! It really is the best hostel in Lviv.

August 9, 2018 at 06:17I’m really impressed by the bathroom and the kitchen at this hostel. As you say, that bathroom rivals some higher end hotels. Overall, it looks like a very clean and cozy place to stay.

August 9, 2018 at 05:44I loved the cultural vibes of Lviv and this hostel looks best to stay here in Lviv. This hostel has great food options and it has a well-stocked kitchen too.

August 8, 2018 at 22:02I was so engrossed in how good it looks that I even found myself peering at the menu! Great choice of accommodation, and good to see somewhere so spotless and not afraid to invest in a decent night’s sleep for guests.

September 22, 2018 at 12:43It is true. Sadly a lot of hostels are ‘too’ budgety. This place shows that you can do a better quality hostel but still be cheap.

August 8, 2018 at 11:00This hostel looks very fancy – the bathroom, the kitchen, everything looks pretty stylish and – as you point out, too – very clean. I’d prefer a single room, though, some hostels do offer that. Does this one?

September 22, 2018 at 12:41I agree. Sometimes you just want your own space. Especially if it is near the end of a long trip and you need to repack all your bags! They do indeed have single rooms as well as a double with an ensuite!

September 22, 2018 at 12:39It is very homely and I like the map too. My current apartment in Lviv has a large world map on the wall made just out of cork boards.

August 5, 2018 at 21:24That is positively luxurious. Not what you usually think of when someone suggests a hostel. The food alone looks like something you would get at a hotel.
Thanks for sharing. Keep travel blogging. Adventure is better shared with friends!
